This privacy policy explains what personal data Swiss Aerospace Ventures GmbH processes when you visit this website or contact us through it, why we process it, and what rights you have. We keep data processing on this website to a minimum.

Swiss Aerospace Ventures GmbH is the controller for the processing described here. Watchberg is a project and working name of Swiss Aerospace Ventures GmbH.

Applicable law

We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and its ordinance. Where the processing concerns persons in the European Union or the European Economic Area and falls within the scope of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we also comply with the GDPR. Where this policy refers to a legal basis, it refers to the FADP and, where applicable, to Article 6 of the GDPR.

What we process and why

Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., USA, which serves it through a global network of edge locations, including locations in the European Union. When you open a page, the hosting provider's servers automatically record technical data in server logs: your IP address, the browser and operating system you use (user agent), the date and time of the request, the page requested and the referring page, if any.

Purpose: delivering the website to your browser, keeping it secure, detecting and defending against attacks and misuse, and diagnosing faults. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website. Retention: server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes and are then deleted. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.

Web analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the website is used. This service works without cookies, does not store identifiers in your browser and does not track you across other websites. It records aggregated page views, referrers and coarse technical data such as browser type, device type and country. We see statistics, not individual visitors.

Purpose: measuring which content is read and improving the website. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding the use of our website. Retention: aggregated statistics are retained for as long as we operate the website.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we ask for your name, organisation, role, email address, the topic of your enquiry and your message. The form is sent as an email through Resend Inc., USA, using its European Union region, to the mailbox of Swiss Aerospace Ventures GmbH. The message is then kept only in that mailbox as ordinary business correspondence. Resend processes the message only to deliver it and retains transmission metadata for a limited time for its own operational and security purposes.

Purpose: answering your enquiry and, if you ask for it, discussing the Watchberg service with you. Legal basis: your request, which we treat as consent to be contacted and as the first step toward a possible business relationship; and our legitimate interest in handling enquiries. Retention: we keep correspondence for as long as is needed to deal with your enquiry and for as long as a business relationship or a legal obligation to retain business records requires. You can ask us to delete it at any time, subject to such obligations.

Fonts

The fonts used on this website are hosted on our own servers. No request is sent to Google or to any other font provider when a page loads.

What we do not do

  • We do not set cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking.
  • We do not run a newsletter and do not add your email address to any mailing list.
  • We do not build profiles of visitors and do not take automated decisions about you.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
  • We do not combine data from this website with data from other sources.

Recipients and processors

We share personal data only with the service providers named above, which process it on our behalf and under our instructions: Vercel Inc. for hosting and analytics, and Resend Inc. for delivering contact form messages. We have concluded data processing agreements with these providers. We disclose personal data to authorities only where we are legally obliged to do so.

International transfers

Both providers are based in the United States. Vercel serves this website from edge locations that include the European Union, and Resend is configured to use its European Union region, but data may nevertheless be processed in the United States. The United States is not a country whose data protection is recognised as adequate under Swiss law in general. Transfers are therefore protected by appropriate safeguards, in particular the standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) and by the European Commission, together with the technical and organisational measures of the providers. You can ask us for information about these safeguards.

Security

We protect this website and the data it processes with technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including transport encryption (HTTPS), access controls on our mailbox and hosting accounts, and the minimisation of the data collected.

Your rights

Under the FADP and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • obtain information about whether we process personal data about you and, if so, which;
  • have incorrect personal data corrected;
  • have your personal data deleted, subject to legal retention obligations;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw consent you have given, with effect for the future;
  • receive the personal data you have provided to us in a common electronic format, where the processing is based on consent or on a contract;
  • lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Switzerland or, where the GDPR applies, with a supervisory authority in your country of residence.

To exercise these rights, write to julian@swissaerospace.ventures. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we respond. We respond within the periods set by law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy when the website, the services we use or the law change. The version published on this website is the applicable one; the date at the top shows when it was last updated.
