Company
A project of Swiss Aerospace Ventures.
Watchberg is developed by Swiss Aerospace Ventures GmbH, an applied-AI and aerospace venture company in Dübendorf, resident at the UZH Space Hub in the Innovation Park Zurich.
Swiss Aerospace Ventures
Built where Swiss space, science and hazard practice meet.
Swiss Aerospace Ventures GmbH was founded in Dübendorf in February 2025 to build and ship production systems for aerospace and aviation: grounded, auditable, fail-closed AI inside regulated domains. Watchberg is the company's first product venture.
The company works from the UZH Space Hub in the Innovation Park Zurich at Dübendorf, next to the University of Zurich's Earth observation and glaciology groups and a short distance from ETH Zurich and the federal research institutes.
Watchberg is Swiss by design: Swiss data residency, Swiss federal geodata, Swiss cantonal hazard practice, and a pilot programme with Swiss hazard offices and operators planned for 2027.

Founder and Managing Director
Julian Walder is a strategist who ships. He spent ten years in positioning strategy consulting for banks, insurers, logistics and industrial clients, then co-founded five technology ventures with a platform at their core, including car sharing, equity crowdfunding and machine-learning recruitment.
Since 2024 he designs and ships production AI systems inside regulated domains: aviation, financial services and export control. In 2025 he completed the NewSpace Economy Executive Program, the joint European executive space business programme of the University of St. Gallen, Nova School of Business and Economics and Rotterdam School of Management with ESA.
He mentors deep-tech start-ups out of ETH Zurich, writes a weekly newsletter on applied AI, and speaks three languages.
How we work
Four rules we build by.
Every number has a source
Every figure shown to a user traces back to a dataset, a date range and a processing version. Confidence and data gaps are first-class outputs.
Experts decide
Watchberg addresses geologists, engineers and operators. It never phrases anything as an instruction to the public.
Partners, not rivals
The service sits before ground monitoring. Monitoring firms, research institutes and consultancies are the next step in every briefing.
Reproducible by design
Same inputs and version, same scores. Historical periods can be re-run at any time, with no look-ahead.
Work with us.
Hazard offices, operators, research groups and monitoring firms: the 2027 pilot programme is taking shape now.
